I've been hearing about this new site called Twitter lately. I didn't understand why people are journaling throughout the day. Do I care that you just pulled up to the red carpet at the Oscars? Or that you are taking your lunch break? But I figured there must be something more to it since it's so popular, so I signed up for an account. Let me tell you something...it's actually pretty cool!
I now follow people, like Barak Obama and Ellen Degenerous, and firms like Seattle Weekly, the Onion and CNN. When I log into my account I can see new links that each "follower" has posted. For example, today I found a link from Seattle Weekly with best cheap eats in Seattle, but also breaking national news. It seems like this site is a way to combine multiple web sites...now I can visit one place and get headlines from all of them!
Let me know if you've used twitter and what you think.

No excuses
Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens
For a while now I've been meaning to share with y'all some of my favorite things. Two items in particular I feel I must share. Men - please feel to skip this article.
1) Best bra ever: Christine by Olga. I have to admit that the first time I purchased an Olga bra I fealt like a grandma or something. But the nice sales lady helped me find a bra that would work for me and this was her recommendation. So I tried it out and now I'm HOOKED! You see, I have slopey shoulders. My bra straps fall down constantly, no matter how tight I sinch the straps. Anyway, this bra is by far the best I've found. Yes, it does occasionally fall down, but not every 5 minutes. More like a couple times a day.

So I went back to the store to buy some more. This time I was so amazed at the selection; instead of finding only black or taupe grandma style bras, the Christine now comes in pretty colors and lacey varieties!
If you have strappy problems you MUST buy this bra.
2) Great razors: Venus vibrance and Venus breeze. For years and years I used disposable, plastic razors. And if you don't know me, I'm frugile (cheap). So I'd use the razor far beyond what it's intended use was. Anyway, it ended up cutting me, giving me razor burn.
One day I tried my husbands razor, one of the fancy batter powered ones. Holey crap! It was awesome! He got tired of me using his razor, so for Christmas he put the girl version of this razor, the Gillete Vibrance, as a stocking stuffer. It was even better than his! It moved better over the knee and I could just tell it was designed with women in mind. Also, I could use the razor blade for much longer than the disposable one.
Eventually I ran out of blades and went to buy replacements. I was blown away with how spenny they were! So I decided instead of throwing down 20 bucks for 4 blades, I just bought a whole new razor. On the shelf next to the Vibrance was a new kind called the breeze that was also on sale. So I gave it a try.
I was even more amazed with this one! It doesn't have the battery power of the other one, but it does have built in shaving cream. Ok, not really cream, but something that lathers your leg so you don't have to use soap or cream. The best thing about this razor - one day I put on a tank top and realized I had neglected that lovely under arm area. Now ladies, I know you'll have dry-shaved and you know the pain. But yet I do it anyway. So I dipped this bad boy in the water and shaved. It didn't hurt! What? No dry burn? AWESEOME!

Well I hope you've enjoying my recommendations and let me know if you try either product and if you love them as much as me. I know, I suppose most people don't get as excited as me over things like razors, but it's those little things get me going sometimes.

Guilty Pleasure

I haven't revealed this guilty pleasure of mine to many people, but I really enjoy watching the Home Shopping Network and QVC. When I'm alone I always surf over to these channels and see what's for sale. I'm particularly a fan of makeup and beauty products and kitchen stuff. But I don't order from these companies....until now!
I just HAD to have Earth Brite! It's an amazing cleaner (or at infomercial says it is) that cleans everything from granite counters & stainless steel pots to fences and outdoor furniture. "(it) polishes and protects leaving no residue behind and making everything it touches spotless!"

One of my other secret pleasures is cleaning. I actually hate to think about cleaning, but once I get going I can't seem to stop! So I bought myself a little treat. I hope it works as well as they said it does! I'll let ya know.

Soda Surrender

I decided recently (maybe a month ago?) that I would stop buying soda*. Normally my fridge was stocked with various generic brand sodas. My faves were diet cola, diet root beer and diet orange.
So one day I learned that my friend, CA, gave up soda and lost a ton of weight. What would happen if I gave up diet soda? Obviously it doesn't have calories like regular soda, but I have heard that the aspartame in diet sodas make you hungry, not to mention there is speculation that aspartame is a carcinogen.
The first couple weeks were tough. I was craving soda all the time. And since there wasn't any at home I starting buying it at work. Soon, though, I became used to not having it and no longer crave it. Was diet soda addictive? Is it like a drug? It sure seemed like it. Especially since I was drinking about 3 cans a day before I quit.
Now at home the fridge always has 1. seltzer water 2. sun-made ice tea and 3. Lemons (to naturally sweeten the tea or ice water)
I wish I could see my internal organs to see if this is really helping!
*Side note: I HATE the word pop. Refuse to use it

Want Item

While I may not NEED this product I do WANT it! I've been drinking a lot of soda water lately and recently learned that there is a home appliance that makes soda! No more buying 6-packs, recycling cans or cutting up the 6-pack rings so birds don't get them caught on their necks (by the way, is this a real concern? I've been dilegently cutting up the plastic rings for years and wonder how many times a bird really has died from having one wrapped around his neck)

I Love the '80s

Yesterday a friend of mine was wearing a t-shirt that had a sparkly, laminate lion cubs on it. You know the kind from the '80s, right? It reminded me that I don't have to act like an adult all the time and I can still wear my "kid" clothes after work and on weekends.
So I started searching the net for some fun clothes. Here's my favorite site. I was a HUGE Smurfs and My Little Pony fan growing up, so I think I'm going to have to buy some of these shirts!
If you were growing up in the '80s I think you'll enjoy this site and will bring back some great memories!
